The Breakdown
Live Weight
We raise our animals to be approximately 700-1000 lbs at time of harvest. They are raised on a pasture/grass diet and are finshed on grain for the last 90 days prior to harvest.

Hanging Weight
During the first stage of harvest the animal is dressed out, after that the animal is weighed that is the hanging weight. The hanging weight is approximately 40-60 percent of the live weight. Ex: live wieght 1000lbs >hang weight 500lbs
Pakaged Weight
The packaged weight is the total weight of beef you take home from the butcher. This is approximately 50- 65 percent of the hanging weight. Ex: hang weight 500lbs> 285lbs wrapped beef. Roughly 30-40lbs of wrapped beef takes 1 cubic foot of frezzer space to store. Ex: 285lbs wrapped beef would need roughly 6 cubic feet of frezzer space
